Write in the Light: Teaching Middle School Writing Through Relativity, Clarity, and Neurodiverse Design
Write in the Light is a two-hour professional development workshop for grades 5–8 teachers, literacy specialists, ENL teams, and special education teams. It helps educators teach middle school writing through clarity, revision, conventions, accessibility, and neurodiverse design.
Using the metaphors of light, signal, frame of reference, and relativity, the workshop shows teachers how to help students write with clearer audience awareness, stronger sentence structure, purposeful punctuation, and more accessible revision routines. Participants leave with a writing mini-unit, revision protocol, neurodivergent supports matrix, and IEP/504 accommodation planner.
Best for: middle school ELA, literacy intervention, ENL support, special education, ICT classrooms, writing across the curriculum, and school-based professional learning.
